The Schlesinger Institute - The Chaim Kahn Library

For anyone interested in medical ethics and halacha, The Chaim Kahn Library should be their first port of call. With a wide variety of books and articles on medical ethics and halacha as well as a range of basic books on Judaism and Jewish law the library serves as a quite place for research and general study.

Computer facilities, a database of Jewish sources, and a bibliography of the library are available to the public.

The library is at the Schlesinger Institute, at the Shaare Zedek Medical Center, Jerusalem.

New: The Schlesinger Institute is pleased to announce the opening of its Chaim Kahn Online Data Base for Medical Ethics and Halacha.

The Data Base contains several collections of interest in the field of medical halacha. Among them are:

The ASSIA Journal - Hebrew articles dealing with medical ethics from the Jewish perspective.

The International Responsa Project - Archive of responsa in the field of medical halacha.

The Data Bases are dedicated to the memory of Chaim Kahn, Esq., the first Chairman of the Schlesinger Institute.
